KIRF RANKING

Govt. Victoria College, Palakkad, secured the 23rd rank in the Kerala Institutional Ranking Framework (KIRF). Dr. Sindhu S. L. (Principal-in-Charge) and Dr. Reena Mary A. P. (IQAC Coordinator) received the certificate from Dr. R. Bindu, Honorable Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, during the award ceremony.

CHAAYA

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS 2025

Govt. Victoria College, Palakkad, celebrated the 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025, with enthusiasm and patriotism. Dr. Sindhu S. L., Principal in Charge, hoisted the national flag and delivered an inspiring Republic Day message, emphasizing the values of democracy and unity. Dr. Sojan Jose, Vice Principal, addressed the gathering with a motivating speech. NCC cadets and NSS volunteers added vibrancy with patriotic songs, dances, and speeches honoring freedom fighters and India’s cultural heritage. The event fostered a spirit of unity and patriotism among students and faculty, concluding with the distribution of sweets.

RESEARCH TEAM FINDS NEW PLANT SPECIES

A team of researchers from the Department of Botany, Government Victoria College, Palakkad, has discovered a new plant species belonging to the genus Ledebouria. This remarkable finding is part of the team’s dedicated efforts to document the biodiversity of the Western Ghats, a globally renowned biodiversity hotspot.

Participation in academic and cultural clubs—including the Civil Services Corner, Debate Club, Film Club, Sahithya Vedi, and Photography Club—not only enhances knowledge but also boosts confidence and public speaking skills. Environment-focused clubs like Bhoomithrasena and Birds Club instill a sense of ecological responsibility, while social impact clubs like Gender Club and Pain and Palliative Care Club foster empathy and awareness.

Further, nationally recognized initiatives such as NSS and NCC instill values of discipline, service, and leadership, often opening doors to competitive exams, scholarships, and professional networks.
