Various programs organised in college 2015-2020

The institution regularly organizes national festivals and birth / death anniversaries of the great Indian personalities. This is done in order to instil the spirit of nationalism and patriotism in the minds of the youth. It also enables them to understand the great personalities and to internalize the values propagated by the great personalities. We also celebrate national festivals like Onam, Christmas and Holi in the campus. During the day, the college conducts different programmes and competitions in which students actively participate. Celebrations of festivals are also occasions for the students to enjoy and to involve in social activities and to imbibe lessons of social harmony.

 

World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June by planting new saplings.

 

International Yoga Day is observed by performing yoga and meditation regularly under the Department of Physical Education. 

 

Independence Day and Republic Day – with flag hoisting ceremony lead by the Principal in the presence of staff and students various programmes are initiated in the campus like parade by NCC cadets, cleaning activities by NSS and other clubs and cells. Quiz Programmes, motivation talks and patriotic song competitions are also conducted in connection with the celebrations.

 

The birthday of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, a great teacher and the second President of India, is celebrated by the college every year on September 5th as Teachers Day. Students organize special programmes to honour retired and serving teachers. 

 

Gandhi Jayanthi is celebrated in the institution every year and students and staff join the celebrations. Keeping alive the spirit of the Father of our Nation, the institution organizes cleanliness drive every year as part of the Gandhi Jayanthi observance. NSS, NCC volunteers and students clean the college campus and various parts of the town.

 

International Women’s Day, Constitution Day, Human Right Day, National Integration Day, Mothers day, day for senior citizens NSS and NCC day are celebrated on the campus.

 

Onam– A major celebration on the campus is the Kerala festival Onam. During this celebration students and teachers wear traditional Malayali clothes. Students arrange Ona Sadhya and they dine together, with teachers. The Sadya is prepared at the houses of students and each group brings particular dishes, making it a community feast. Onappatu, Athappookalam and Malayalimanka competitions are also organized by the College Union and various departments on the occasion of Onam.

 

Christmas is celebrated with Christmas carol. There will be crib competition and cake sharing in all departments.

 

National Science Day– The Science Departments in the institute celebrates National Science Day, International Year of Light, Wetland Day, world water day, world ozone day and other national festivals by conducting talks, seminars, poster exhibition and other competitions. Mole day – by chemistry department.

 

National Mathematics Day is celebrated to honour Sreenivasa Ramanujan for his contribution to Mathematics on 22nd December. The day is observed by conducting seminars, talks by eminent personalities in the field of Mathematics and exhibitions.
