At present the department has three PhD holders.

Dr E Geetha has done her thesis on feminist writings in the nationalist era.

Dr ASneesudheen has done his thesis on communal situation in Kerala with a special focus on Marad.

Dr Rekha’s thesis was on the formation of Nadus in early medieval Kerala.

The other faculty members in the department are also involved in research.
